This comes from the theme.cfg file: >> ! Theme: Linux >>... >> ! ------ Wallpaper ------ >> background: aspect >> background.pixmap: ~/.fluxbox/styles/Linux/pixmaps/background.jpg >>
You can see the file pathname. > To clarify, I put the background and background.pixmap settings in the > style's theme.cfg. There are styles that consist of a configuration > file only, named as the style's name and others that consist of > a directory named as the style's name which contains theme.cfg. That's how I do it, see above. I have made some simple themes too with a similar template. > Some have a pixmaps subdir. Verde is the latter case. I saw one with an abstract green & white image, but the download was gone. > That is irrelevant to GTK, as GTK is irrelevant to fluxbox. > OK, good to know. I've never been clear WHY GTK has theming. > I meant "if you put the background settings in those fluxbox-supplied > system styles, do they have effect, or they fail like they do in your > custom styles?" OH! Good idea. I'll try that this evening. > the menu, the setting 'session.styleFile' in ~/.fluxbox/init changes to > the currently selected style and all style aspects change except the > background. I've tried both the Restart option in the main menu, and logging all the way out, but no joy. AIUI, when fbsetbg calls feh, feh uses that and you get the background even if you've switched to a simple style without one. I think this evening I'll try putting up one background, then call feh with another and see if it changes, or lastwallpaper takes precedence. (I'd call that a bug! Maybe there's a patch? I'll look.) Thanks for your followup. I'll try your idea. -- Paul Rogers [email protected] Rogers' Second Law: "Everything you do communicates." (I do not personally endorse any additions after this line.
