I tried adding background: and background.pixmap: to the system bloe theme, but the background didn't change from the time I ran fbsetbg by hand. When I exited X and blew off lastwallpaper then the new one came up. We expected that. I discovered fbsetbg is just a shell script, and took a brief look at that, but decided not to diddle it. I *was* thinking the preferred solution was to remove lastwallpaper in ~/.fluxbox/startup, when I reset my style from bloe to one of my own and ran Restart from the menu, just to get out of that "test state", and suddenly the backgrounds started working!!! Freakin' Magic! I don't like when this happens! It never worked before! I did that dozens of times. In my experience I *should* chase this bug down and kill it, they "always" come back, but it may have cleared itself on this system. Maybe it has something to do with the state of the lastwallpaper file that's created before it's needed. Maybe when I move my style-kit to a different system I'll see it again and be able to find it. Thanks for giving me some ideas to try when I kept banging my head into the same brick wall. -- Paul Rogers [email protected] Rogers' Second Law: "Everything you do communicates."
