Hi Pete, If you check that box, that will tell Outlook Express to automatically mark the message as, "read", after a time you specify by moving to the next tab and setting a time. So, if you choose this option, you could end up with a list of messages marked as read, when in fact, you haven't read them yet. Hi Marie. You might want to go to tools, (Control plus T" then options, (press O) then Control plus Tab to go to the tab that says "read messages". Now you should be at the tab that says "Mark messages read after displaying" If the checkbox is unchecked you may want to check it. Hope this helps you.
