It's perfectly fine, that is what MSE reports once it completes a scan.

hello Donald
in my systems tray this morning was the following item
it said
computer status protected
this appeared this morning after i had set a scheduled scan for 2 am this morning
it was not there last night after downloading and installing the program
i presume by this protected thing that the scheduled scan had worked and that my computer is clean and has no virus or anything un to ward there were a couple of other things i had wanted to ask the members about m s e but for the life of me i can't remember what they are
when i do i will send to the list
but if the above proved to be successful then the program is well worth having i did listen to the marry Emerson audio and found that if i selected remove like i did last night that if jaws encounters a problem remove mode can strip out some of jaws so i have set it the same way as marry has in the demonstration with the exception that i have chosen to use the scheduled scan selection

The yellow bar that you are referring to is called the information bar. It appears if there is suspicious activity happening like a web site attempting to install an ActiveX control or download a file. There should be a specific sound when it appears. I usually miss it but find myself waiting for something to happen. When it appears, just press Alt + N, to move focus to the bar and announce the warning. It will just do nothing if the bar is not present. Press Space now to 'click' on the bar. A context menu will appear to get more information or start the process, like download.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Don, it isn't as easy as you say. For instance, today I checked my system
tray only to discover that mse is gone goodbye. Yvonne's link goes to a
video installation instructions that is inaccessible to jaws. Wasn't there a set of accessible installation instructions when we all started using mse? I can't see that yellow bar miss microsoft talks about on the video. Help
needed so I can get mse back soonest. marilyn

: That is the beauty of MSE. You do not need any instructions. Unless you : want to change the time or frequency of complete scans, it stays out of
the
: way. If it finds a virus, it will notify you with an easy to read,
: accessible dialog. Now you can concentrate on your dangerous actions as a
: user rather than the mechanics of configuring security software.
