This is simply not possible. IE 7, let alone IE 8 did not exist when JAWS
4.5 was released. I can guarantee you that many of the features in IE 8
will absolutely not work with JAWS 4.5, such as the RSS feed reader and
private browsing. There is a lot more to IE 8 than simply loading web
pages. And IE 8 is a klot different than IE 6, the version in effect when
JAWS 4.5 was released.

that Gerald is wrong because I have Jaws 4.5 running on my computer with
windows XP and internet explorer eight works just fine .
other wise the automatic updates would not have downloaded internet
explorer eight on my computer.
because like I said I have windows update to down load things on my
computer automatically and that is why I know Gerald is wrong in saying
that internet explorer eight will not work with Jaws 4.5 and Jaws 5.10.
I am not saying that an earlier version of jaws other than Jaws 4.5 will
not work but I do know that Jaws 4.5 does work with internet explorer
eight because I am using Jaws 4.5 with windows XP and internet explorer
eight.
and that is all I am going to say on this subject.and it is also your
choice rosemarie weather or not you down load internet explorer eight.
I just wanted to let you know that jaws 4.5 and jaws 5.10 does work with
internet explorer eight.
