Hi, Allan.
Fortunately, Final conflict with a little work could in theory be
converted to any space battle fleet game. Although the ship names would
have to be changed, new effects, but in theory could be done. The
problem would be in finding something which is equal quality to the Star
Trek name and sound effects. In this case converting Star Trek is
probably easier.
Star Wars is another matter. The sound effects, characters, and the
entire concept of the Jedi Knights is what makes it what it is. Coming
up with something like it just would not work without steeling something
from the name brand product.
It is for this reason STFC may be released under a non-commercial
license to avoid copyright suits, or any legal backlash.
