According to the docs I have, yes James was going to try to let you switch perspectives, but basically what this did is changed the keys you used and the whole feel of the game, at least that is what I gather from what he wrote. I agree this would be an interesting option to have available. If you can do that while maintaining the ability to have the other perspective available for us purists that is fantastic.
