Hhaahahahaha,
Well, glad to hear that you're not bitter at least eh?
hahahahah,
I just wanted to chime in here and say that I also have a friend who loves the
rainbow, for what it's worth.
We had the curbie sales group experienc e here at my house.
I still feel dirty from the experience!
We did not and will not buy one of those.
Crazy!!

In my opinion the Rainbow is the best you can get as far as cleaning not
clogging and since the air and dirt goes through water you have mear 0
emitions and it puts out perfect humidity. Meaning it puts out the same
humidity weather the room is way too dry or way too humid it will come out
the exhaust at some where around 45 percent. Don't quote me on the
percentage. OK Now that I have the free advertising out of the way.
By the way I don't sell them I just like the quality. And thought I would
  share.
Any way the purpose of my post is to ask Larry or any one that might have a
newer model. Are the newer ones still just as much a pain in the rumpus as
the old ones to empty and clean the water reservoir? The one we have I
think we got it in about 1996 or there about. No newer than 1998 so it is at
least 10 years old. The only thing I don't like about the rainbow is
  emptying it.
My Wife just loves this rainbow because in her little world it is
completely self filling, self cleaning, self propelled and it takes itself
out and puts itself back away when it is done. Hmm I wonder how it does
  all that? Grin.

How can you tell if it missed anything?
Do we use the barefoot test?
I am vaguely interested in this robotic vacuum however I am pretty damn good
with my rainbow canister and it is going to take some convincing to make me
jump ship for some machine that I don't control.

Hi Shawn! My robotic vacuum also goes under the couch too. I have to have
somebody help me charge it up every so often. The best time to use it I
think is when I'm out of my apartment for awhile doing something, and then
when I get back, I check it to see how it did, and if it vacuumed everywhere
and I also check to find out if it missed anything.

  I have an iRobot Roomba.
It works pretty well and didn't need any setup.
I just push the power button and then I push the clean button.
It works on both carpet and hard floors.
The best part is that it goes under the couch!

Now is it just the original set up that needs sighted assistance? After
that do you just charge it up and let the little guy run? Will one set up do
both carpet and hard surfaces? What about moving it from upstairs to down?

have a robotic vacuum and I love it. I set it up to vacuum my whole
apartment whenever I go out of my apartment for grocery shopping or
something. My sister helps me set it up, because it's kind of tricky. I
really like the blind handy man show a lot. Sometimes I help my sister Jenny
do yard work, and when I move into a condo probably next year, I won't have
to do any yard work because there are professionals who do yard work in
condos. Like I said earlier in this post, I love the coverage on the blind
handyman show and I'm very proud to be a part of this list.
