Hi Claudia,
Jim was right when he talked about the 
rechargeable ones being flat on the bottom. I 
don't buy non-rechargeables anymore, but all of 
the rechargeables that I have are flat on the bottom.

As for disposing of them, our CVS drugstore and 
also Office Max will take used batteries for disposal.
