Subject: Re: [BLISS] MLA with Floor Control
What we are missing from 'normal sip' which I think is useful:
* being able to yell an appearance# across the room
* being able to pick up/join a call based on that #
Then we have the requirements that I don't think we need to support to
give people the same workflow:
* selecting a particular appearance before a call is placed
This is really easy if you have one registration per "line" (I prefer to use
AOR for each
of these lines: if it's "Line 1" or "Sales" or "Shipping", or "The Boss" or
"The secretary"
is just flexible implementation details.
Pressing the key just selects the proper context (which active registration is
used).
Note that incoming calls can be dealt with the same way. If the request URI
points
to "Line1", you can flash the appearance or whatever.
* binding an appearance to a 'line button'
Again, this in inherent with the approach where an appearance is just an AOR.
* using the appearance numbers to represent a resource limit.
Again, using an AOR as is instead of binging a line number to an AOR avoids
this problem.
