We have had the car for close to six years and 65K miles and it is still fun to drive. It is nowhere near pristine, but solid. The paint looks a bit worn-on, the front doors have minor rust at the bottom edges, the exhaust is ready to go. The interior is pretty nice and the body really doesn't have any dents. The tranny was rebuilt by a local shop 30K ago, so this car has a bunch of life left. The engine is close to virgin, with only an alternator going out under the hood. So the exhaust off an E21 320i is worth more than the exhaust off an E36 M3. It won't be completely bolt-on though, my guess is that you will likely need to do some cutting and welding to get the exhaust to fit. If you are doing it you can probably pick up some injectors too and get some more fuel to go with the improved airflow for not much additional money.
