BMA Auto Parts, and the BMW Store in Cincinnati will ship to Canada using US
Postal Services.

I'd have to sell my cars if I were going to import parts using UPS.

Years ago I used to use a paint called SEM Bumper Black. Does anyone know
of a paint to use for real bad rubber?

SEM is still around. Also Griot's Garage and Eastwoods both sell some good
stuff and have things for such restorations.

Hi Brett, I have a couple of follow-up questions on the thrust rod
bushings. (Assuming I still want our '93 525i after the head comes off for
head gasket replacement and I find out if there is any other bad news...)

Will E32 750i bushings fit the E34 525i thrust rods? If so, what are the
differences between them vs the M5 bushings you recommended for Brewster's
535i? Different performance characteristics? Durability?

Thanks,

Scott Miller

My family has grown and now I need to replace my 01 330i with a
minivan. :( I'm telling myself that in a few years I'll buy an M or
some fun car.

2001 330i, Silver 5 speed, ~82900 miles, Sport & Premium packages,
Harman Kardon stereo, leather seats, power moon roof, Xenon
headlights, DSC, 4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 tires in the spring, M rims,
also 4 Blizzak snow tires & rims with one season on them. I've also
added a Racing Dynamics Front Stressbar and aFe Magnum Force Cold Air
Intake. I have never taken the car to a track.

I know it needs new brakes, about 1500 miles left on the current
set. I asked a local BMW dealer it would be a $1000 to have them
replaced. The only other thing that needs fixing is the sun shade on
the moon roof. It has been broken since the day I purchased it.
From what I've heard/read this can be long process and thus can be
expensive. I don't have the time to fix it myself, nor feel like
paying someone else to do it. The moon roof still works.

I'm still washing and waxing so I haven't taken any pictures yet. If
you'd like to see pictures or have any other questions email me and
I'll send you a URL when I do have pictures to share. I can be
reached via email [EMAIL PROTECTED] or via phone 585-419-6276. I live
outside Rochester, NY.

Kelly Blue Book private party value lists the value between $14,755 -
$17,450 depending on condition. I figure this car falls somewhere
between Good and Fair condition, owing to brakes and sun shade.
Though I'll consider any reasonable offer.

Regards,
Chad

I'm getting an occassional check engine light on my 2000 528iA (build date
7/99) with 62,000 miles. Comes and goes with no apparant pattern. Fault code
is P1397 which I believe to be Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit (Bank
1). Is this an actual sensor failure that is easily replaced? Or, does this
point to something else in the circuit. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Robert

Sounds to me like the exhaust camshaft sensor. Had one of those on
my 01 325i (under warranty), then later the intake one
(out-of-warranty), which I replaced myself.

I believe it's in the same location on your M52TU as it is on my M54;
at the left front corner of the head. IIRC the part is $75-100, and
you need a 5mm allen wrench to do the job.

99M3 - I've noticed that occasionally the blower (HVAC) fan won't go full
speed. Everything else is normal. After a while it speeds up. I'm not all
that familiar with the automatic climate systems - is there still a blower
resistor pack in there? Normally when they fail you lose the lower speeds,
not the high speeds, and anyway this seems to be a more
continuously-variable setup. I'm aware of the "capacitor" fix but the
articles I've seen on that refer to that fix as a solution to a different
problem. Any other ideas?

Thanks
Dave Swingle
