Subject: Garage Battery Charger Question
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I need a new battery charger for my garage as trying to charge a shorted
battery seems to have overdone my old one.

I have sorta settled on a Schumacher one as it desulphates as well as
"starts" cars. Besides he was a hell of a driver.

<http://store.schumachermart.com/sc-12000a.html>

But then, it looks like Sears sells the same thing under their name for
substantially less money.

What thinks you?

That Sears link doesn't seem to work, but I'm comparing a Schumacher
SC-12000A with a Sears Dihard, Sears item #02871226000 Mfr. model #71226.

I've used Battery Tender products for many years. In fact,
I have three of the small units that I use for the
motorcycles and whatever car is packed away for awhile.
These are really trickle chargers and not suitable for jump
starts.

I also purchased a cheapie from Autozone. First one failed
after a few weeks, replacement seems to be working. This
big one is good for jump starts. It's got a selectable
"serviceable battery" or "deep cycle" battery charging mode.

BTW, your Sears link does not work.

Sorry, change "deep cycle" to "maintenance free".
