So let's hide information from users so they don't complain? Seriously?

That will just make them complain even louder when the changes are
silently implemented, and they'll complain in *ignorance* too; saying
they don't like that it now does X when in fact it does *not* do X
(but since nobody was informed, they have no reason to know better).
