We'll be observing it and working out kinks for a little while. > > 3. Are there any plans yet to add the code for the new credits to a future > Boinc server version? > > 4. Projects can always modify the server code to grant credit any way they want. The new system reduces the need to do this, and makes it a bit more difficult to do so. > > 7. Because CPDN grants credit via trickle messages, they'll have to do a bit of work to use the new credit system. Alternatively, they can upgrade to the current server code and continue granting credit as they are now. > > 8. Does anyone know how new > credits would affect the credit situation at any particular project? The old system didn't handle GPU apps, and projects with GPU apps had to assign credit in ad-hoc ways. The new system does handle GPU apps, and grants credit in a way that's cross-checked with CPUs. I suspect that this will cause several projects to grant less credit for GPU jobs than they currently are. _______________________________________________ boinc_dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/boinc_dev To unsubscribe, visit the above URL and (near bottom of page) enter your email address.
