Took a quick peek anyhow, and realized that's the page I got your source from in the first place (thanks!).  A quick skim through reminded me of a few more things :
  • The fix for newlines (which might have been something I broke in the first place ;) ) takes care of the " " -> " " translation
  • I did some comparisons with the "original" pre-dynamic-highlighting output, and the whitespace was kept inside the phrases with other adjacent stuff - which seemed to "work" but looked a bit weird - IMHO it's cleaner now
  • I have not integrated any of the new docs you wrote for the dynamic highlighting stuff
  • the dynamic highlighting is working great for my docs - kudos to Mr Guest :)
