I work for a company near Kendall Square and the Kendall/MIT T-stop (very near the Residence Inn). Our building has some common rooms on one floor of our building that are often used by various tennants in the buiding for things such as company meetings. I've mentioned the idea of yapc::boston(?cambridge?) to the person who might be able to make a decision whether this space could be used, and he wants to schedule a meeting with me in order to get more details.
First off, our space is maybe big enough to act as 3 good sized classrooms, or as 1 large room. Security in our building is tight, and the landlord might also say "no", so there are a lot of bridges we must cross. I also have to be clear that we'd need probably an equal amount space outside of that in my building, but if we could use either an auditiorium or 3 rooms in the building where we now hold the Boston.pm meetings, we might be able to make things work! (My builing is a 5-min walk away from where Boston.pm meets, and the food court is in-between. The person I asked wants me to set up a 30min meeting with him where he can ask more questions, so I'd like to find out who on the list I can talk to more privately in order to prepare for my meeting and to present Boston.pm in the best possible light. (I guess this means I've volunteering as a member of "the committee". :-) Anyway, I guess Uri, Kenneth, John, and Kripa are the people I should connect with to learn/investigate more. (Sorry if I left anyone out or "volunteerede" anybody.) Hopefully, the deadline for submitting a bid to yapc can be extended, and together we can make something happen! I want prepare and work out a strategy before meeting with the contact in my company. -- regards, Bob Clancy (cell: 857-719-9825 if you need to call) _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [email protected] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
