cards aren't reformatted, I don't know where you got that, and don't worry
about the file loosing issue. As long as you back up your files, you should
be fine.

Subject: [Braillenote] losing files
hello Dean, Jonathan, and List,
For the past two days, I've read about losing files. This problem
concerns me greatly. I just sent my BrailleNote to Humanware California
to be upgraded to the MPower and have a few questions that perhaps someone
can answer about files lost.
1. If your device freezes and you can't go to Main Menu without
resetting, can't you remove your compact flash card to keep the
information on it from being erased? I understand that you will lose any
thing you are creating or editing, but if removing the card is possible,
it won't get reformatted, will it?
2. Will this reset erase all the messages in your E-Mail files and
folders if the device reformats?
3. is the Humanware staff, (tech support, repair, and engineers) working
to resolve this problem? On limited incomes, it is depressing to finally
be able to afford an upgrade or a new MPower, only to discover it doesn't
perform the simple task of saving what you have written as well as the
classic did.
4. With the exception of what I create in my E-Mail folders, everything I
do is on a compact flash or storage card, and I'd like to know why a
machine reset reformats those cards or external storage devices?
Thank you for any information you can provide on this subject.
Sammie Clay
