It is not additional software applications that make the Braillenote
expensive.  It is the hardware, especially the Braille display.  This is
why people are looking at mainstream PDA's that run screen readers.
Well, when I was at CSUN, I saw a 12 cell Braille display that is
designed to run on a PDA with Pocket hal.  That Braille display sold for
over $2000, so that less expensive PDA all of a sudden now costs about
the same as a Braillenote 18.  So!  We're back where we started.
