Ah 12 cells! DELIVR ME FROM TEMPTATION!
THe best Braille Display I've used was 80-cells. Why? Because, since I
use braille exclusively, it is easier on my hands. SO would I want a
shorter display? NO WAY JOSE! 32-cells works fine for me!

A 12-cell display would be too short for me! I don't want a Windows
environment on a notetaker, either. I like the Keysoft environment.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] a suggestion for a future release
: It is not additional software applications that make the Braillenote
: expensive. It is the hardware, especially the Braille display. This is
: why people are looking at mainstream PDA's that run screen readers.
: Well, when I was at CSUN, I saw a 12 cell Braille display that is
: designed to run on a PDA with Pocket hal. That Braille display sold for
: over $2000, so that less expensive PDA all of a sudden now costs about
: the same as a Braillenote 18. So! We're back where we started.
