Hello JOnathan and List,

Jonathan made a point that seem to bearout what some of us have been sayhing about WHAT exactly the BN should do. Instant Messengr is something a brile user can use--all my deaf-blind friend who have Pac Mates use it. (Like RIchard, I don't want it! smile)

So, Alex and Listers, were need to relaly consider what we want. Many wanted Fm fardio and music and go t it.

What it boils down to is HOW DOEs HW determine what to incluede?

Hi Richard, very good post indeed. If we were to somehow offer a
complicated smorgasbord of options, not only does this make the order
process confusing, but with so many different versions of the software to
release, test and stock, the price would skyrocket.

RE: [Braillenote] a suggestion for a future release

Many individuals currently own Braillenote products. When I say
Braillenote products, I choose to include both display sizes available,
and Voicenotes.
There are as it is many products to know about, and many options to
understand.
I mean that, for example, though Keysoft 7 runs on the Braillenote
classic, Eloquence does not. I firmly believe that were Humanware to
issue special software that contained some features, while other
versions contained other features, confusion would walk among us. Every
device and/or piece of software that I own has features that I do not
use. That doesn't mean that someone else doesn't. I personally will
not use instant messaging.
That seems to be mostly for the younger users, I know some young
people who spend hours doing it. Whatever floats your boat.
In fact, I was recently talking to a person on the phone, and the whole
time we talked, the person was madly typing instant messages to others.
From my perspective, a bit rude. But, I think it's a generational
thing.
Anyway, I think that the overwhelming majority of students, for example,
will want instant messaging. Do I have to use it?
Not at all.
I don't care much about adventure games either, but how does do me harm
to have that function as part of the unit?-----Original Message-----

Dear Sarah,

I think my idea would work because many "extras" are software, not
hardware
so a person could buy the extra software they need. That's what people
do
when they want foreign languages so the idea should work with other
software, too.

The braille display is expensive, but remember the competition, The
Braille
Sense, costs less than the BrailleNote mPower with a 32 braille cell
display.

: The "bells and whistles" and "extras" are not what causes the BN to
have
its high price, this is because a Braille display is very expensive.
Also,
there seems to be no regard for the fact that HW is already working hard
to
produce the best PDA possible for its market, and that creating a double

handful of different units with individualized features would take a
massive
amount of time and resources that is being spent, instead, on creating
new
features that can be used by as many people as possible.

: I think there should be several options for the BrailleNote, depending
on
a

included
in

which
