Jonathan,

I followed the steps you outlined for installing 7.01. However, I'm still having problems.

The only file on the card is nk.bin. I held down dots 4-5 along with the reset button. Beep, pretty music. keysoft 7.0 build 22 main menu. Nothing else. I've only updated my unit once, so I'm still in Braillenote kindergarten when it comes to the update process. At 09:00 PM 7/7/2006, Jonathan Mosen on BrailleNote mPower wrote:

Hi Joseph and all. Firstly, I am only aware of one SAID card error reported to this list regarding the 7.01 update. It may be a hardware issue, it is difficult to say. However HumanWare technical support will be happy to assist.

Regarding the steps to take for the 7.01 upgrade, and I am talking specifically about BrailleNote and VoiceNote mPower, all a current 7.0 user has to do is to copy the nk.bin file on to an SAID card that is less than 512 MB and formatted in FAT 16. We provide a utility to prepare the SAID card if the card is not formatted for FAT 16. The only file that needs to be on this card is nk.bin. Then perform a 4-5 or JK reset and the upgrade begins automatically. No product key or boot loader is required if you are already running 7.0. I can tell you I've done hundreds of these with success every time.
