I have raised this several times and, mysteriously, my messages don't appear
to have made it to the list and I have had no replies, although addressing
Humanware specifically on the subject.
We really do need other cards to be trialed and I personally would like
something to replace the Sandisk card which is part memory card, as I've
never been able to get one of these for my PK. It would be so useful for
email.
I wonder if anyone else on this list has used any other cards successfully
and hasn't let us all in on it, because they just haven't got round or
thought to do so? If that is the case then please, please speak up!

Kevin, Thanks for that! My only point has been that if a future upgrade
for the mPower etc. did not support these two cards that many, many of us
would be up the creek once more, with the necessity of forking out yet
more money in order to use the machine to its full potential.
A new wireless card is indeed necessary to be found to work with the
mPower. I just hope the old ones still will be permitted to work.
Sorry about all the confusion.
Kathy

KC,
I thought that I would like to confirm that of what you are saying KC,
since
I am the one who brought this discussion up. That is correct that both
the
SanDisk and Ambicom manufactures are planning on discontinuing the
wireless
cards that were once known to be compatible with the BrailleNote family of
products. I believe that SanDisk has already discontinue the wireless
card
that they manufacture, and Ambicom is planning on doing the same in the
near
future. This does not mean that all current owners of the SanDisk or the
Ambicom will not be able to use their cards once they are discontinued,
the
current owners will still be able to use their wireless cards, but once
there are failures in the wireless cards, it will be virtually impossible
to
get replacements nor to get them fix, once they are all discontinued that
is. This will be troublesome for new BrailleNote users, as they will not
be
able to purchase the SanDisk wireless card, and will not be able to
purchase
the Ambicom wireless card once it is discontinued, they will be left
without
the ability to use the wireless feature on their BrailleNote, this will
remain the case until HumanWare finds an alternative wireless card that
will
work with the BrailleNote family of products. I just thought that I would
clarify for those of us who are confused of the situation. I do hope now
that we are all on the same page.
Kevin
