Hi Sammie,

You will see that I have made 2 further posts following my initial post
that you have replied on. It is "business as usual" Sammie. All we have
asked is that it you don't get a resolution to your queries from the list
community and you think that HumanWare should be able to assist, then
contact your local support address directly as we may not pick up the fact
that you are still waiting on an answer from the general list traffic.

Regards

Maurice

re: [Braillenote] Post from HumanWare to all BrailleNote List Members

Hello Mr. Sloane,
Does this mean that people like me won't be able to ask or
answer questions on the list anymore? I don't remember seeing any
technical advice given by anyone on this list. Most of the
listers answer questions or make comments based on either what is
written in the manual or what they think is written there.
Others, who are more computer savvy experiment with commands
that are not clearly written and pass this information to us via
this list. They also pass their findings to the Humanware staff,
particularly the editor of the manual. Also, many people make
comments about what they've heard or things they would like to
see added to the operations of their devices in the future. Many
complain about the short-comings of each upgrade or discuss
something tech support has told them about what their device will
or will not do. Is responding to questions, answers, or comments
that can be found by reading the manual or experimenting
considered technical information? Many of us learn about our
devices and their operations plus the myriad of things we can use
them for from what we see on this list. This means, for me,
information that would make the device work better or learning
things that are not specifically specified in the manual, for
example, deleting attachments from my Flash Drive's sub directory
in order to retain memory Or to clear my cookies after surfing
the internet to protect my personal information. I've seen
questions about how the games are played, how to set-up the
devices to send or receive mail, how to get Bibles, or to access
certain web sites.
New or potential BrailleNote owners subscribe to learn about
these devices and many decide whether they will become owners
based on what they read on this list. Are we being limited to
discussions about how much we like these devices by your message?
Humanware should be aware of the fact, that with all our
complaining, we like these devices very much, because we still
have them and sing their praise. I sincerely hope that I will be
able to continue reading this list to discover things I never
knew I could do with my BrailleNote MP-OWER.
If you will, please clarify what you mean by technical advice,
which hopefully will not limit our ability to learn about our
devices.

Sammie Clay
