Dear Sharon and list:

How far did you get into the upgrade process?

First, you have to execute the product key from the SD card.

Then type the digit 2 on a QT (typewriter style keyboard) or the
letter b on a BT (brailler style) keyboard.

After that is done, you do the following:

Press and hold down the keys for dots 4 and 6 (J and L on a QT)
and momentarily depress and immediately release the reset button.

Continue holding down the keys until you hear five rising tones,
then release them and let the unit run.

It is now running the boot loader.

Upon completion of this step, do the following:

Press down and hold the dots (4-5 (J and K on a QT) and
momentarily depress then immediately release the reset button.

Keep holding the keys down until you hear a strange series of
tones then release all keys and let the BrailleNote just sit
there and quietly update itself, making its reassuring beep every
few seconds to tell you it is alive and well.

This step may take up to 15 minutes or so and when finished, you
will either be told to do a reset or it will quietly start KS 7.5
by itself.

If no type of reset is specified, do a simple reset with just the
reset button and no keys held down.

If you think it will help or need moral support, please telephone
me. My phone number is listed below.

Use the 613 247-0665 number.

I will note your name and number and call you right back on my
unlimited Canada/USA long distance.

This offer applies to anyone else who is having problems.

I take calls until Midnight Eastern Daylight Time.

(Same time zone as New York, Boston etc)

Good luck.
