Ottawa Canada Dear Sharon Clark and list:
OK so you did the 4-6 or J-L reset and the boot loader began running. On the Braille display it should say: Upgrade Menu version 1.5 or words to that effect. At this point, if you have a BT, you press the dots 1-2 keys for the letter B If you have a QT, you type the digit 2. As you have stated you have impaired hearing, probably me trying to telephone you would result in complete frustration for both of us. Did you press the letter b or the digit 2 and then did the boot loader make a low-pitched beep every few seconds to tell you it was running, alive and well? There may be sound technical reasons why speech cannot be used during the update process, I don't know for sure. After the boot loader has finished running, you then do a Dots 4-5 or letters J-K reset to start the actual updating process. This can take up to 15 minutes to complete. If you have someone with good speaking and hearing who can come over, I guess you, your helper and I could try to finish the update on the telephone. Or do you think e-mail is best? Brian Brian K.
