Hi,

Take note of which cell and dot it is, (I think you already have).
I have one dot that occasionally stays down.
I find that if I urge it with my fingernail, it pops up.
I don't know if the same might work with a half up dot.
The trouble is of course that you don't want it to come back and persist just after the warrantee has run out. Perhaps call HW and ask them how much it would be to replace a cell.

Regards,
Steve.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your advice. I did excercise the braille display last
night but it did no good. This morning however, the display
seems to be back to normal. Kind of weird. I'll keep a close
watch on it though.

Nikki B.

Oh Nicky, I think the upgrade to 7.5 and a problem with your
Braille display
is sheer coincidence. I'm not sure if this helps, nor have I
tried it
myself, but try exercising the Braille display. You can do this,
on a BT by
doing the following:
1. From anywhere in Keysoft, press space with o
2. Press space with I. BrailleNote should display, "Support
Information
Mode"
3. Press x.
I'm not sure what happens here, but from what I've heard all the
cells will
move from left to right, up and down, in some kind of marching
fashion.
I shall leave it there for the "experts", but I hope that helps.

Subject: [Braillenote] braille display question

Hi all,

I need some advice. I have just noticed a dot on my braille
display which
seems not to be going all the way down. It raises up just fine
but I can
still slightly feel it when it is supposed to be flat. I don't
know much
about braille displays since the BN is my first exposure to
them. Any
suggestions or advice on this would be appreciated. It was just
cleaned
last month but I sure will send it back in if I need to because
my
warranty runs out next month. Oh, another thing. I just started
noticing
this since I upgraded to 7.5 this evening. Is this a
coincidence?

Thanks so much!
Nikki B
