Subject: RE: [Braillenote] restoring braille display functioining
Hi List,
Well, I wanted to let everyone know that I called tech support
this morning, so the issue of restoring the braille display has
been resolved. They told me the braille note needed to come in
for repairs.
They did, however, give me one strategy to try before making that
determination. It was quite similar to what some of you ave
already suggested. Some of you have given me a specific file in
the dictionaries folder to erase and then do an immediate
standard reset. Tech support's variation on this was to erase the
entire dictionaries folder and then immediately do a standard
reset. Doing it their way, when the braille note came back up, I
had to reset some of my braille display options, such a preferred
grade of braille. Unfortunately, this strategy didn't work for
me. I don't know that doing it their way is any different from
deleting the file you guys mentioned and reseting, but since
that's what they told me, I thought I'd pass it on. Maybe it can
help somebody on the list one day if they have a braille display
problem.
But all in all, it looks like my braille note is headed to the
repair shop for awhile. Though I'll miss having it, I should
still be able to access you guys by email thru a computer. You've
offered some great suggestions, and I can't thank you enough for
trying to help me. I hope I'll be able to do the same for some of
you in the future. Thanks again.
Lauren

hi lauren,
From the main menu press f press e to erase go to the flash disk
and go to the dicsionary folder.
The file you are going to erase is keysoft-ksaid.
Then press the reset button with no keys holding down.
I hope I gave you some help.
Good luck,
From Michelle.
