I too, am a Braille fanatic. There's nothing like using refreshable
braille to edit a document, read a book or play games. It's great.
Furthermore it tends to keep me awake. hehehe
Did you ever encounter the David? It was exactly what you propose.
A laptop with a built-in braille display and the sighted display removed.
It was a good piece of machinery in its day. I just wish braille displays
would go down in price. Imagine having a braille watch with a braille
display on it? That would be cool.
I went into a local apartment building which primarily caters to deaf
and deaf/blind individuals. In the lobby, there was a teletype device. It
actually had a braille display.
What if bank machines had a braille display? If there was concern of
vandalism, how about a USB port to connect your own braille device. Let's
make braille cool and inexpensive. It's the year to do it. I think Louis
Braille would think so too.
