Jack, I have been of your mindset for many years and have just now abandoned my beloved Braille Lite Millennium. I would maybe charge it once a week. Certain things those notetakers based on the Braille 'n Speak did none of the modern ones do.
Keeping this a bit on topic, it was mentioned that the Braille Sense has better battery usage because when off, it doesn't drain the battery. That may be true, but during my limited testing, when leaving WiFi and Bluetooth on on both units, the Apex lasts a good deal longer, while the BSP really drains fast. I have two braille lite forties. One of which is over 12 years old and still going strong doing well thank you very much! I get about 24 if not more hours out of one charge folks. What it does it does well. You can even use it on line with a shell account. I'm not saying the braille note mpower which I have and am using now is NOT a useful device I am however saying that there is still use and a great deal of it to be gotten out of these so-called legacy notetakers and they are to be had cheap because most people don't want to bother with them since they ain't running the latest and greatest version of whatever crapped out software microshaft has seen fit to bur.: us with. Four years old didn't seem that old to me because I have been accustomed to the reliability and long battery life of my Braille Lite, which is eight years old, by the way, and is functioning very nicely even as I write this. I see that standards of longevity and battery power are lower in the BrailleNote. >Linda Adams >___ >Replies to this message will go directly to the sender. >If your reply would be useful to the list, please send a >copy to the list as well. >To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to >[email protected] >To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit >http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
