Hi, I was able to remove the battery and it was reconised as being removed and put back in but it still only ever showed 0% no matter how long I left it on charge.
I just came down to my room t get into bed and still the Apex was saying it had 0% and the adapter on. So I decided to put it back in it's case for the night and once I did this I checked the level again and it is up to 90%. This still makes no sence since it was in the case when the problem first happened and after I thought I had fixed it by removing the battery and putting it back in I put it in the case and it lost any reading again. I had it out of the case for awhile trying to work out what was going on but no matter what I did it was still reading 0%. So at the moment it is back to normal but I'm not sure that will last. My normal humanware person is off until Jan 16 so I will see how it goes until he gets back to his emails and contacts me. Thanks for your suggestions. >From Shaz. Also, could it be something with the battery itself | that could prevent it from charging? | (To verify the second statement, trying using the Apex without | the battery while it is still connected to AC power; if power | status indicates AC adapter on with battery removed, then this | could indicate battery problem within the battery.) | Cheers, | Joseph | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "Sharon S" <[email protected] | To: "Braille Note" <[email protected] | Date sent: Tue, 27 Dec 2011 13:42:29 +1100 | Subject: [Braillenote] Major problem with my Apex. | | Hi all, I have a BN QT Apex running keysoft 9 0 2 built 756, I | haven't had | time to upgrade to the latest version yet. Last night before I | went to sleep | I put the Apex on to charge however when I woke up this morning | it was still | at 0%. The adaptor was working fine because the Apex said it was | on and I | checked that it wasn't loose anywhere. I decided to try taking | out the | battery, when I put the battery back in and checked the level it | was up to | 90% however when putting it back in the case the Apex reset | itselve a couple | of times even though it was off and when I next checked the level | it was | back to 0%. I have tried restting it just with the reset button | and it has | gone through the memory scan but it is still at 0%. I left it on | charge and | turned off while I went and had lunch but it is still at 0% after | about an | hour of leaving it totally alone. I have removed the battery | once again and | got a sighted person who knows what they are doing to check the | battery and | Apex connections and they are all fine as far as he can see. | | I have had this ongoing issue with the Apex that when I pick it | up some | times it will reset itself and this doesn't matter how much | battery it has, | It even happens when it is in my bag on the way to work and I am | very | careful with it. In fact last night before going to bed I picked | up the Apex | from my seat in the living room and as soon as I picked it up I | heard the | beep of it resetting, as I was carrying to my room I heard it | beep a couple | of other times, it was turn off this whole time. | | I am hoping someone might be able to suggest what might be wrong | with this | and be able to fix it myself because I don't really want to send | it off to | humanware at this time of the year because who knows when they | will be able | to fix it. I am also going to send a message to my local | humanware person | hoping he is still checking his emails even though he is on | holidays. | | Hope to hear from you soon, | From Shaz. | BN QT Apex and PK user. | | | ___ | Replies to this message will go directly to the sender. | If your reply would be useful to the list, please send a | copy to the list as well. | | To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to | [email protected] | To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit | http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote | ___ Replies to this message will go directly to the sender.
