Yes, you are right, he does say that it makes the best shot of all the machines 
they sell. I have to give Todd a bit of a bad time and point out that the shot 
in the video is severely over-extracted, though. :)

The video is from 2010 so I don't know whether they have another machine they 
like better by now, but the Brewtus has been one of their main machines for a 
long time. 

I don't know the answer to your gicar question on other brands, but the Brewtus 
PID gives very good temperature stability. 

If you haven't seen this site, look also at http://www.home-barista.com. There 
is tons of good info and forums there, both for buying and for repairs, shots, 
etc. 

David Schomer is something of a guru around here as well; his website is 
http://espressovivace.com. His books/videos on espresso technique are very good 
also. He usually has a "recommended" machine for home use, and that was the 
Brewtus for many years. It is now the La Marzocco GS/3, which lists for $7500!  
So not really a home machine for most of us.
