I believe mine blew off at about 2 bar, from memory. I ran pressure around 1.5 
all the time. Thinking it through, I wonder if a piece of scale/mineral has 
gotten to the p-stat and caused it to stick? I.e. then it keeps heating the 
steam boiler unchecked until the valve opens?
