Well i'm stumped now.  I replaced the pstat and same symptoms occuring.

Wiring is same as was shipped to me from WLL - took several pictures before
and after.  The switch itself on the pstat i tested with multimeter and
confirmed continuity on the stram boiler pole below pressure and no
continuity once it reaches about 1.2 bar.

However, pressure continues to rise as the main boiler is heating.  Steam
boiler relief valve opens.

Confused as to why this would start after a descale.  Maybe another valve
or line is blocked that i'm not familiar with
