Wow you people sure are 'snippy'. Accuse republicans of name calling then
call Bush 'idiot, fat faced, stinky hangover (standing next to him were
you?), mush mouth' and so on. It's fun to talk about but can we try and keep
the conversation on a polite level?
On the other hand senator elect hillary clinton is already calling for an
end to the elctoral system, use direct election. The first thing she'd do is
offer an admendmant to the constitution to get it changed. As someone else
said, good luck.
The system worked as intended. Small states counted. This is a
Representative government. If Gore wins the recount then fine but for his
camp to keep asking for recount of the recount of the recount of the
election is getting rather tired. The election has been held, the votes
cast, the recount was automatic. Let the people do their job.
But I do wonder why the recount is different from the first count. (Wait for
it).....Oh yeah we have to have the news NOW, we can't wait until the west
coast polls have closed before we have all the information we need. Freedom
of the press is great but maybe there should be a gentleman's agreement that
there are NO exit polls and no calling of ANY election before all polls,
nation wide, are closed. I actually heard people in Hawaii and even Arizona
not going to the pols because they heard Gore had won. First of all these
people are idiots for not exercising their right to vote no matter what they
heard, but also gagging news of the election would help these people.
