I think at some point we'll have to learn to accept when something is said
in the heat of youth's passion or the only people we'll ever elect for
office will be Amish and/or Luddites. There was an article on Salon a year
or so ago that discussed the effect the information age would have on
people's public lives in the future. A quote that springs to mind is:
"Right now, somewhere in the US, our future president has just put the
finishing touches on his Amber Lynn tribute website."
Wasn't there a State Rep in Vermont that got nailed after this election for
some waaaaay off-base things he'd said in the past in online discussion
forums and in letters to local newspapers?
