I also work for a hospital in the US, and for the past few months 
we've been actively recruiting nurses from the Phillipines to cover 
shortages.  I'm told there's a sizable surplus of nurses there, but 
I'm somewhat skeptical that a place can ever have too many 
nurses, though I could be mistaken.

Oddly enough, there's no shortage of Canadian med students, but 
they always seem to go back almost the instant they have their 
degree.  Perhaps they know something I don't?
