It may be more sensible for Colorado, but the roads Kristin drives with a
65mph speed limit really oughtn't have a higher speed limit, IMO.

The sensible thing is to let each state determine what the appropriate
speed limit is for that state.  I don't think a speed limit of 80 is
reasonable for, say, Rhode Island, but it might be a good idea in, say,
Idaho.

And while Texas's speed limit is greater than 65mph, there isn't any place
within the city limits of Austin where the posted speed limit is above
65mph, because it's not appropriate to have a higher speed limit within
the city limits of Austin.

It's all a matter of what is appropriate for a particular situation.
