You can not enforce peace in a region where extremism is so widespread and so diverse in appearence (A point already proven in the whole Balkan mess). So I think that the fighting will continue indefinitely unless a miracle happens. But that is rather the Catholic type of solution ;o). Putting the jokes aside I'm rather worried that the response of the Israeli government to the Hamas attacks will do more harm then good. Bombing a city (even if the target aimed for is a legitemate one) with a number of missiles (I heard of nine, CNN) , to me, doesn't sound like a measured response that takes into account the possibility of innocents getting hit. It will only polarize things further and no good will come of it.
