And research has also shown that this fenomenon is largely due to the lack of
comprehension of the Dutch language (especially among older people or first
generation immigrants) this is rather poorly. In respons the Dutch government
started linguistic programs for ethnic groups. AFAIK it was apreciated by most
whom it concerned.

Ethnic people who have a good comprehension of the Dutch language usually do
very well in Dutch society. They have the means and the opportunity to do so
just like any other inhabitant of this country. And unlike the average Dutch
most of them don't take these opportunities for granted. This shows because most
of them are highly motivated and great achievers (A personal observation when I
tought class at Univeristy).

I don't think it is any different from the US if you don't speak the language
you don't get into the better paid jobs.
