No, we have the *power* to banish someone. Please note that I have 
repeatedly stated that none of the listowners would banish someone without 
discussing the matter with the entire community first.

The purpose of the police metaphor was to get you people thinking about the 
difference between a warning and a threat. Unfortunately, nobody seems to 
have gotten the idea.

Actually, I launched that idea to get a discussion started in which we 
would together formulate a set of rules about dealing with misbehaviour, 
unsubscribing etcetera. There is no need to get the listowners to agree to 
not banishing people on their own, since that is not the way we (the 
listowers) work anyway.
