O.k., I lifted the hood on my computer yesterday to confirm that if I did
buy I harddrive, that I would be able to actually use it. :)
Unfortunately, I haven't done much computer stuff since collge and I was a
little rusty..... anyhow, I did eventually manage to disconnect a few
things and reconnect them, so I think that I am in good shape.

I did run into a few difficulties, though, and maybe someone can help.

1) I managed to get my master harddrive hooked up o.k. But anytime I
reconnect the cable that goes to my slave HD and my CD-Rom to the
motherboard, the computer won't boot at all. Any idea why?

2) Inside my computer I have two fans, one on the motherboard, and a much
larger one. The problem is, this larger one is *incredibly* noisy (and
getting worse with age.) I tried cleaning it off real nice, and for a
while it decided to respond by making this shrill whining noise. :) So
that was no good. What's weird though, is that the power supply wirings
for it appear to be bound to the power wirings for my Master HD, so I can't
even disconnect it. Any ideas?

I'm strictly amateur at this, so I apologize if any of these questions are
silly - but thanks for your help.
