The United States was attacked by Muslim extremists and fanatics on
September 11th, 2001. 3000 American civilians were murdered -- not
soldiers, but people who committed no crime more serious than being citizens
of the United States. By your analogy, out of fear, Norway and the world
should have barred Americans from their soil, and certainly kept them from
entering into public places like hotels, airports, restaurants, movie
theaters, supermarkets and street corners to protect against retaliation.
American symbols like our flag should have been removed and taken down.
Hell, the world should have prevented our nation's airlines from landing in
their airports. To the best of my knowledge, this didn't happen at all.

Newspapers from all over the world, including the International Herald
Tribune had several articles and photo pictorials on how, in a show of
solidarity, American flags were being displayed in homes and government
buildings in democratic countries. I have a Powerpoint slideshow with images
of flowers, cards and candles placed outside American embassies in other
countries.

Norway sure wasn't afraid we'd bring Islamic fanatics down upon them. They
didn't bar their borders to us for even a day.

How do you explain this disparity?

Occams Razor: Racism and anti-Semitism is alive and well in Norway.
