I would argue that it would, just in the same way that Pakistan managed to
completely derail the several years of building US-India ties due to
Pakistan' strategic location.   

I think that the fact that Saudi Arabia has a state-of-the-art air force
base, and is so strategically located next to Iraq, the next major
battlefield in this war, would make it a very key compononet of our foreign
policy.
