I am not being sarcastic, and I am not attempting to trivialise a point. I 
was asking a simple question about why people say "3,000 American citizens 
were killed" when in fact several (hundreds?) of the victims were of other 
nationalities. Such a message suggests that the loss of American lives was 
horrible, but the loss of non-American lives was not important.
