I linked y'all to the wrong page.

is certainly interesting and relevant.

But the "balance" page that has earned ire from
liberals is:
http://www.davidbrin.com/progressparadoxarticle.html

There is another explanation for how one can despise
the present GOP and be balanced.

The democrats (as Will Rogers daid) are not one
organized party. They are a melange.

Many of them really are pinkos who bitterly oppsed
Clinton for reducing the federal payroll, ending the
deficit, putting our finances on a sound footing and
doing more reregulation - removing unneeded government
regulations - from small business than ALL gop
presidents have ever PROPOSED...

Deregulation and fiscal restraint and controlling
crime and re-taking our borders... these were all
hated by wings of the democrating party, within which
struggles over such policies waged... and I often (not
always!) took the side of the DLC moderates. These
policy fights took place WITHIN the democratic party
for one reason.

Because the Republican party is not about policy. It
is about raiding the public treasury to benefit a
narrow aristocratic class. There are no other
agendas.

Why is it that Clinton TRIPLED the Border Patrol upon
taking office, instituting Gatekeeper and retaking
control over our borders, while both Bushes
unambiguously crippled the BP as soon as they entered
office? Many of the "conservative" voters would be
surprised to learn this. Clinton did not crow over it
because it did not seem "nice" to the liberals, and
the goppers won't give him any credit. It's a
fascinating story. One of many.

No. I sometimes am a libertarian, sometimes a
meddling environmentalist. But I am always against
the aristocratic assholes who conspire, in every
generation, to ruin the civilization of the
Enlightenment and pound our social diamond back into a
pyramid of privilege and serfs.
