So why not use the model that Gynga used for Mixed nationals and ..............
EUC. Score keepers. If we want to improve tour then this has to be one of the
best things that can happen now.

I’m not picking on any of the tournaments I have been to this year but If I had
played Mixed nationals last year I would have thought its nice to not have to
flip the score board. Its good to know that the TD cares about my game. Man I
can actually find out what is happening with out any effert form me at all.
Who do I give the spirit score to..... oh the tournament rep by the pitch!!!

so seriously if you want a bench mark for running the best tour talk to Gynga
about how he runs them.

PS split the tour as well.... it can only make the TD's job easier

Note for all readers. That figure was a haphazard guess. I'd be
surprised if it was over 60% though. I reckon I got about half of all
the teams.

Put it this way, you're at a tournament and you finish your last game.
If no one actively chases you, do you really worry about the spirit
scores? Especially if you're shattered and really want to get home,
which is probably hours away. If no provision is made then what are you
to do? This was our fault at tour 1. Live and learn. Everyone leaves it
to the captain and the captain is probably loathe to hunt around to hand
it in after a weekend of being organisation monkey. So I, and one other,
ran around trying to hunt teams down but most of the B tour had gone as
they finished earlier (why wouldn't they leave!) and so I got who I
could from people still around. Then people were scared to speak on
behalf of their teams etc. It wasn't teams showing a lack of
willingness, it was us not having told people what to do. Again, live
and learn. Once you spend two hours running around with a sheet of paper
asking people who the play for, you make a mental note to improve this
method next time round.

As a player, I would much rather just text it all in and forget about
it, than walk around trying to find a TD when my brain was approaching
shut down on a late sunday afternoon. Hopefully, it will prove of little
hassle to the teams and massive benefit to everyone at the event. Lost
count of the amount of times people wanted to know where they finished
in their pool or who there cross over was against and we were missing
one result which held everything up. Think this would just make it run
more smoothly for all.

Whether the players actually text in the results...now that's the part
I'm not sure about.

I think it's a good solution for both the scores and spirit problems we
encountered. But then I would say that...

40% of teams gave a spirit score at T1? That's frankly appalling. Do
people really think this doesn't matter?

If so, we should urgently implement the measures that have been
discussed - always reporting spirit scores after tournaments as Jack and
Milky have done, and using a broader spirit scoring system that gives a
score to every team you play. I think the texting system is a top notch
idea.
