I'm not sure it proves the point that teams voted '4' because they were
friendly, but I would agree it suggests that the voting of some teams may
not have been totally representative.

Would they have voted differently if they were offered the BULA system? I
believe so.
Would those votes have been more representative of the spirit on show during
those games? Again, I think so. But I think there are many reasons why they
would vote 4 if given very little instruction (I purposely gave little
advice to see what would happen)

It may also be of note that the method of voting for 1st, 2nd, 3rd doesn't
necessarily help to improve the spirit on show in games it just ranks teams
against other teams (which definitely has it's benefits) but there may well
be a tendency for teams lower down the rankings to assume that they were
everyone's "4th most spirited team". If, however, a team sees they get 4 out
of 16 from a weekend, they know they may possibly need to peruse the spirit
rules again to improve for next time.

If all the teams did that, we'll be having some hippy love-in by 2010 Tour
though...
