Looking at the G3JVL page, it shows 10 TURNS 16ga, tap 5 turns from grounded end to coax center….wound on ~3/4-7/8 inch nylon or similar insulator…NOT 10IN DIA!!
Other sites show a 10mm (MILLIMETER) radius…not inches! Can't down load ARRL off the internet for loaded coil dimensions, all other ways weren't working either. On the 5/8 wave 6m antenna I did find something that said 10" dia??? - 5" tall with 14 GA wire. From the internet plans G3JVL I had gone off of it was more like 1/2"dia - 5"tall with 14 ga. Almost everything off the internet...height, radials, loded coil were wrong surprised it's made out of tubing they got right!! Can I get a verification on the 10" so I can refit it...Thanks on the other dimensions I will refit those too. You have been a Great help. This is coil loaded from the bottom 10 turns. The plans say 14GA coated wire and tap. I think the wire should be bare for the tap (aligator clip) to connect to. Plans don"t say this. By the way SWR is way high.3.0. Any advice.
