Well, we use ZFS when we install the liveCD and we support 512M for that method. And the resultant system does actually boot and run in 512M. So, a text installer ought to be usable in at least 512M and quite possibly even less (if we don't have to load X and Gnome I believe we'll save a lot of memory). My point is, we already 'break' the ZFS minimum memory requirement (if in fact that is a valid requirement) with our current 'gui' installation method. The bar for the text ui I believe starts at 512M minimum and needs investigation to see if it can go lower (which I think it could, at least in terms of installation. Whether or not the system would boot under 512M is a different matter). Cheers, -- Glenn
